Legislation and regulations

Existing legislation and regulations generally serve the current market model. Nevertheless, with the energy transition in motion, there is a need for change: for instance, to create a level fical playing field.

The Dutch Senate, de ´Eerste Kamer´, recently declined the ´Stroom´ law proposal. Zestgroup views this as a renewed opportunity to make an improved design of market processes that facilitate the energy transition.

Zestgroup identifies new market roles and places these roles within the new market model. In addition, there is an increased attention for implementing new, mostly European, financial guidelines such as REMIT, MiFiD II and MAD II. These rules are designed to make the market more transparent and fair and are a necessity from a compliance point of view.
